#002: How I Work At Home With 3 Kids Under 6 Years Old

Whether we are stay-at-home or work-at-home parents, our plates are equally full. And it’s very real. It’s a matter of getting free time to do things we all love to do AND making full use of that time.

If you are currently a work-at-home parent, or if you are considering it, I think you will appreciate this episode. Here I share 4 points that worked for me and I hope it will help you manage your work-at-home situation better.

If you work at home, I bet you have it too: those days where you just want to shut the door, curl up on your bed, hide underneath the blanket and leave the kids with the chaos and the mess in the living room. Wait, just being a stay-at-home parent can give you those moments too. Let alone a WORK-at-home parent. Some days I fantasise hurling myself into space and colonising Mars. Yes, a woman can dream!

  1. I give mine some free rein on painting or baking cookies themselves with strict instructions to make all the mess in the world, luck the bowl, splattered themselves with batter and just let mummy do some work – even if it’s just an hour of solid work as opposed to 2 hrs of on/off disturbance.

    1. Seems like the messier the play, the longer they stay engrossed! Lol… Thanks for sharing!! I might consider letting them paint… But ugh I don’t want to think about the clean-up

    2. It’s so worth the mess because they get to clean up the mess too and that gives you even more free time – this time around for you to do perhaps the dishes whilst they clean up. I always find a compromise. Just watched your Tuesday Talk video too. Great stuff. I feel like I know you already just from your post which are short and straight to the point. Keep up the good work.
